Hannah Montana

Kenna and Chloe LOVE Hannah Montana. She's coming to concert in January and tickets go on sale tomorrow 10am...wish me luck!!

No More of This

for Reagan. Wednesday afternoon Reagan and Riley had noodles and a peanut butter sandwich for lunch. I had recently heard through the great vine that your suppose to wait until a child is 2 before giving them peanut butter. Well, I decided to ask our pediatrician about this at the babies one year visit. She said that it was fine just try a little at first since no one in our family has any kind of peanut allergy. Anyhow, about a half hour after the babies scarfed down their lunch...they loved it, Reagan's eye started looking puffy. We called the doctor's office and the nurse said she would leave a message for the doctor and get back to us. Rae was acting fine just the puffy eye. I laid the girls down for their nap a little while later and when they woke up and I went to get them out of their cribs Reagan was a mess. Her ears were completely swelled, her head was beat red, she had welts all over her face and legs, and there was a line from her jaw line down her throat that was bright red with blotchy white spots. It really freaked me out. I called Josh immediately and had him come by to take a look at her, then I called the doctors office who had not called back yet and told them about the progression. They told me to take Reagan to the closest emergency room. I was so afraid, I couldn't believe it. Well, we got Reagan to the hospital and right a way the nurse said she looked like one BIG HIVE. She was covered. The doctor came in and said it was most definitely a reaction to the peanut butter. He put her on a steroid and benidryl and she has been fine. In the meantime, Reagan and Riley (for that matter) will be banned from anything containing peanuts! Riley didn't have any reaction however they steal each others food far too often to even chance it.
**Side Note**
Reagan was also our baby that was allergic to cow's milk. She did outgrow this at around 5 months and the doc did say she could grow out of the peanut thing too. I'll be having her tested before I take any chances and that won't be for at least a year.

Bridging to Brownies

Chloe is Officially a Brownie. We had our troops Bridging ceremony yesterday and the weather was absolutely perfect. Our park has a Bridge just right for the occasion and then we celebrated our achievement by having a pizza party and making s'mores which is also part of earning our very first try-it. It seems like just yesterday Makenna was Bridging and now she will be a Jr. Scout!

Riley who are you texting???

Hello My Name Is...

One of the funnest parts of having TWINS is dressing them alike. I love to dress the babies alike. I don't know that we have ever went anywhere in public without them dress exactly alike down to the BIB! Well, as soon as I found out we were having twins I started Googling clothes for twins. I found some sites but nothing that really made me want to come back. Well, wouldn't you know it would be a Mommy of multiples that would come up with her own creations that I'd just fall in absolute love with. I have added her site to my side bar the address is http://missymoos.blogspot.com check it out. You don't have to have multiples to get the cutest personalized baby attire. She is a very talented mama who will work with your own creative ideas all you have to do is email her. Here's my baby girls in the latest thing I've ordered. She ships super quick and the quality is undeniable. I love them!! I also ordered the babies the b-day shirts it was just too cold to wear them at their party. I post pics of them another time.

New Glasses

Makenna had to start wearing glasses last year, we weren't really surprised my hubby had to wear glasses very young. I think first grade?? Anyhow, it was time for school shopping and Makenna told me that she would like a pair of Cheetah Glasses. I thought it was pretty cute that she called them that and I knew exactly what she meant. Do they make glasses like that for little girls?? She meant she wanted black framed glasses. I have a pair that are by the way very old and she wanted a pair like mine. I told her we would have to see if they had "Cheetah Glasses" for little girls and let me tell you excited doesn't even begin to describe how she felt when I told her I found a pair. She looks so cute and very stylish in her new specks!!

Happy Birthday Babies!!

We brought our babies home!! I was so excited and okay a little nervous. They were very small especially compared to our other two. Let's go back oh...11 days. I had a doctors apt with my wonderful doctor, begged her to check to see if I had dilated, was having constant braxton hicks contractions, had a non stress test and had just had an apt with a specialist. Reagan's fluid level was getting low. I remember telling the doctor I was sure I had to be dilating because some of the contractions were so strong...well I was 2 1/2-3 centimeters...I knew it!! So I asked her what she thought being that I was 35 weeks, she said it could still be a couple more weeks just don't go into labor this weekend because she'd be out of town. So wouldn't you know it... around 3:45am I woke up needing to go to the bathroom, no surprises there...and started to have a pretty strong contraction, I thought I'd wait til it passed to try to get up and go and then I felt it...did I, oh-no, I've heard of that before...having a little accident. My water did not break on it's own with Kenna or Chloe so I really didn't know what that was like. I decided to hurry and get out of bed in case I could make it without any further ...you know what. Well, when I went to the bathroom I realized I still had to pee quite a bit. Maybe it was my water?! I figured I'd be able to tell if I stood up and things continued. They did and Josh was at work. Luckily he was getting off at 4:00am so my timing was pretty good. I called my awesome neighbor/very good friend she answered on the second ring...she said she just knew it was me, then I called the dispatcher to have her tell my hubby no chit chatting after work he needs to come home...think my water may have broke. Next thing I know Josh is running in the back door ripping off his uniform. I told him to slow down I was fine and that I wasn't even sure if it was what I thought it was. We got to the hospital around 4:20ish, and we walked up to labor and delivery. They had me get in the pretty gown and told me they could check and see what the fluid was. Bingo...amniotic fluid!! So the nurse came in and started the process, monitors and paperwork. Not sure why but they didn't start my IV right away which ended up being a pretty BIG mistake. The nurses asked if I was contracting and then how long my previous labors lasted. I told them that it took a while and that my contractions actually weren't that bad. Josh forgot his cell phone in the rush so I told him I was fine and since the hospital is like 5 minutes away to go home and get it. He called his mom and she was on her way. Okay, so now it's about 5:00am still no IV and the on call doc is on her way in. I start feeling like the contractions are getting strong and mentioned how I know somewhere in my chart it says I definitely want an epidural if not two. The nurse oh so sweetly tells me that I am only 3 centimeters and that I need to be at least 5. They checked me shortly after I arrived. Not too much time passes and I'm just sure I should be getting that epidural. No doctor still so hesitantly the nurse decides to check me to see if I'm progressing. How about a 7 and still no IV. Oh and by the way in small hospitals the anesthesiologist has to be called in if it's in the middle of the night!! WHAT!! Fast forward to somewhere around 5:45am...still no IV although they are rushing around like crazy to get it in, very hard contractions, begging for epidural!! Doc comes in I'm at a 9 almost 10...blood pressure cuff on my IV fluid because you have to have at least one bag of fluid before you can get an EPIDURAL. 6ish and I'm truly pushing while they are wheeling me down the hall to the operating room. Multiples are suppose to be born in the OR in case they need to do an emergency c-section. I do not get my epidural however as Reagan was coming the awesome anesthesiologist gives me a shot in my back....ahhhhh. I felt everything with Reagan and absolutely nothing with Riley. Probably a good thing since Riley was breech and the doc had to reach up there and pull her out by her feet. Riley's heart rate dipped after Reagan was born so it was pretty important to get her out as soon as possible. Reagan entered the world @ 6:17am and her baby sister came along 6 minutes later. My life has never been the same since...and I love EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it!!

**By 10:30am my babies were being taken to Aultman Hospital's NICU because of breathing complications, the doctor told me they would probably be there a couple of days, 10 days later they were released from the hospital and we took our babies home.**

Cake and more Cake

Riley Addison Hunt 9/10/06 6:23am

Reagan Brooke Hunt 9/10/06 6:17am

Oh, sorry...

I bet your all a little surprised that I haven't posted about the twins first birthday party. Well, that probably has a lot to do with the fact it wasn't quite what I had hoped it would be. Reagan loved it, loved the cake, the food, the presents, had a great time. Little Riley well this is a picture of her. She didn't even touch her cake. Not one little bite. She woke up with a fever of 102.4 and couldn't shake it. We gave her Tylenol and then even added Advil into the mix and it never went down. It was pretty scary. We've never had a fever not go down with that combo. I finally called the doctor around 9:00pm and they said they've been seeing a lot of unusual illness such as this...okay that's not good! They said it could even last up to a week. My big fear was that we would get Riley over this and then Reagan would get it :0( So far so good but I'm gonna keep praying. Anyway, Riley just wanted to cuddle she was not in the mood for a party, poor little thing. Kinda reminds me of Kenna's first Christmas she was so sick, high fever = no fun. I am happy to say Riley is much better now.

1yr. well baby check-up

Yummy...Mommy made us cupcakes for our Birthday!!

Today my birthday girls had their well baby check up. They are growing and doing well the doctor was very excited!! Reagan weighed 18lbs 1oz and Riley weighed 17lbs 8ozs. I can't remember off the top of my head what their length was~I'm thinking 28 1/2 Rae and 28 1/4 Ri. They were both right around the 25th percentile for length. They are not walking yet but are taking 2-3 steps and cruising one handed around the furniture. They both wave "hi" and "bye-bye",say "mama" and "dada", and eat all of the time. They have great appetites. I don't think we've come across a food they don't like. Riley has 5 teeth, 1 of which you can only see a little tiny speck but it is through. The other four well....just picture a little vampire!!! Yup, she has the bottom too smack dab in the middle and then on top....she has not the middle two front teeth, she has the one on each side. We have recently started to refer to her as our little snaggle tooth. It's pretty funny! Reagan still only has the two on bottom but it looks as though she will be following right along with her twin. The one to the side of her front tooth is almost through. They absolutely love to play together. They make each other giggle which makes us giggle it's just the cutest thing! Today at the doctors they had to get three shots each which was no fun and they had to get their finger pricked to check for lead poisoning. I was glad that they were checking this out, I don't remember Makenna and Chloe being check but maybe they did and it's just been so long. Anyway, with all the recalls lately it's pretty scary. Working in Real Estate you learn all of the negative affects of lead poising. Now as long as nobody gets sick we won't see the doctor until November when it's time for flu shots. We are having Reagan and Riley's birthday party this weekend so I'll post pictures probably Sunday or Monday!

Now that's what I call multitasking...

Mom and Dad,

I thank you so much for the siblings you have given me!! I can't imagine not having these guys in my life. They are so special each in their own ways. We had a great family reunion. It's hard though not having grandma or grandpa here. I thought today a lot about the reunions growing up and about them. Dad your brothers missed you so much. They all asked about you both and send their love. I made sure Fred, Daniel, Me and Jon took a picture together just so I could post this for you!! Fred didn't want to stand in order of age... :0) ...wonder why ;0)
I Love You,
Rachel
